Summer Daily Journal Update

Hello!

It's coming towards the end of term for us here at school in the UK, I for one break up from school tomorrow at half past twelve! It's been a long term, I've had exams and whatnot, so it will be nice to finally let my hair down and chill! Hopefully I will be doing all sorts of exciting and fun things this summer, like going out with friends, shopping, parties and of course lots of make up, crafts and cooking. I think that it would be good if I used this opportunity to do as much blogging as possible, so I have come up with the idea of doing a sort of diary/ journal thing, but on this blog. 

I can tell you guys what I have been up to that day and share anything exciting or new that has been going on in my life. I think this will be a great reason to add more content to my blog, and hopefully it will interest you all slightly. Do tell me what you think about this in the comments below, because I love to hear from you!

Another thing that I've wanted to say is that I am almost done decorating my bedroom! Yay! After many weeks of hard work I am almost ready to film a full room and closet tour, which I will post on YouTube for you to look at! There are a few more finishing touches to add, and hopefully it should be done by sometime next week or the week after! Fingers crossed!

Le Grand Départ OOTD

Hey guys!

How are you all? I'm very well, and I'm about to show you a blog post that I'm pretty excited about!

You've probably heard of the Tour De France right. You know, the world's biggest cycle race that goes around France and ends up in Paris? Well, if you live in England you will have definitely have heard of it. And if you live in Yorkshire like I do, you will know all about it.

Yes, the Tour De France is coming to Yorkshire. In fact, it's already here and is doing it's Leeds to Harrogate leg today, followed by York to Sheffield, then Cambridge to London. And although I've probably ridden a bike about 3 times in my life (I'm not really the sporty type) I'm actually pretty excited.

The whole of Yorkshire is in Carnival Mode, the sun is shining, the music is playing, so what better thing to do than blog about it! Today I went to a small music festival near where I live to celebrate the Grand Départ, and I will be seeing the actual cycling tomorrow. However, today was mainly festival day, and I had loads of fun getting henna done and eating cupcakes. The festival is still on and finishes late tonight when the campers will arrive, but I've headed home and can actually still hear the music ringing in my ears.

So, I thought that I'd do a few Outfit of the Day shots before I went out, so here is my outfit.

I'm also wearing a plain white v neck crop top, with a ruffled hem, that I got from Topshop.

My leather bag is from a charity shop.

On my feet, I'm just wearing these simple white studded sandals from Odeon. The nail polish on my toes is Rimmel London French Manicure Pro in French Ivory, but I used two coats to get a more opaque finish. 

I always tend to wear a lot of jewellery to festivals, I don't know why!

The first green bracelet was a gift from Alicante, so I don't know what shop it's from!

The second reggae coloured bracelet is from Evolution from the Made in Bali collection.

The third leather band is from an independent shop called Minx (I think) in Sheffield.

The fourth bracelet is from a Christmas Market.

The bow ring on my pinkie is from River Island. I bought it in the sales and it cost me fifty pence!

The first ring on my middle finger is from H.Samuel and the second is from Topshop. 

The black onyx on my forefinger was bought in a vintage shop.

On my nails I am wearing number 12 by Gabrini, which is a nice fluorescent ink, which makes a bold statement with my otherwise neutral outfit.

Summer Q&A

Hi guys
Today I thought that I would compile all the questions I've been asked over the past few weeks, maybe even months, that I've started this blog, to help you get to know ne a bit better! There are about ten of my favourites, so keys get into it!
What is your name?
Ok so obviously I'm not going to tell you my full name on the internet,  but my first name is Eva.
How old are you?
I am 14 years and ten months old.
Any brothers or sisters?
I have brothers and sisters! I come from a gigantic family, so shoutout to anyone who also comes from one! In total, there are seven of us, 3 boys and 4 girls including as set of twins. I am the oldest, and the ave ranges from 14 to 1 and a half. Many people ask me how I can cope living in such a big family, but to be honest, I actually love it. There is always someone to talk to, and even when you do want to be alone, we are lucky.enough to have a house big enough to give us our own spaces. But yeah,  being in a big family rocks!
Do you have any pets?
No, sadly I don't have any pets. I'd love a little dog though.
What's your favourite song?
Oh no! I hate favourite questions! I have many favourite songs, so go and listen to them. Ride Wit Me by Nelly, Feel The Love Rudimental, any Bob Marley song, I also like UB40 and Lana Del Rey. Oh and for some top 40 ones, I love 5SOS and Waves by Mr Probs.
What's your favourite book?
Again, I have 3 absolutely favourite series: Harry Potter, Hunger Games and Divergent. Just read them,enough said before I go into major fangirl mode.
Favourite colour?
Orange!
Celebrity crush?
Damn, I have so many. Liam Hemsworth is my future husband but then again so is his brother Chris, but I like Leonardo Di Caprio, Ryan Gosling, Channing Tatum,.Orlando Bloom, Pharell and I fancy the pants off of Theo James!
Favourite beauty product?
Mine is quite a controversial,non cosmetic item. It's Sudocrem. I use it as a spot cream and it works like magic. For me,  a clear complexion is more important than mascara and whatnot, so I probably couldn't live without ny Sudocrem.
Reason for blogging?
I started this blog as an outlet for my creativity and my passions. I didn't really think anyone would read it, so whenever I add a new post and see the stats I get blown away by the support I recieve. It seems so unreal that I have only owned LML for less than 2 months, but I've already made so many friends! I know it sounds cheesy, but I truly do think about every person who reads this blog, and I am very grateful for your support and patience. These past few weeks have been so surreal and I am loving every second of it. Blogging is the best and super fun, and I would encourage you all to get going, because you won't regret it!

Bright Summer Nails

Hi everyone!

Do you ever just feel like you need to make some kind of weird statement and wear something that is completely bizarre. Often these things are bight, bold and colourful, and I get that all the time, especially in summer. Well it's Friday, and for some strange reason, I felt like I could easily pull off some snazzy (!) fluorescent nails. Maybe it was because the 5 Seconds of Summer (see what I did there) that we had here in England is over and that I want to relive those carefree memories of being able to wear my new Topshop shorts for the first time. Or maybe it was because today's lessons consisted of History, PE, Latin, Chemistry, and English. Anyway, I felt like painting my nails, and here's what I did:

So for my thumb, I painted my nails with 3 coats of Astor Mint Candy, then topped it off with a coat of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Top Coat.

For my forefinger, I used Gabrini Number 27 (the yellow) then painted a triangle in the Astor polish.

I just used Gabrini Number 12 on my middle finger, and then did a 'half and half' with the pink and yellow shades.

My pinkie is just a French manicure using the yellow and the green. 

So, what do you think? Are these nails really cool- or are they just a tiny bit over the top!

DIY Room Decor: 2 Nail Polish Shelves

Hiya!

Sorry for taking a few days away, but I've been steadily working on part of my DIY Room Decor project and I have something exciting to share with you!

I have an obsession with nail polish, but for many years I have just kept my beauties shut up inside a little box. OK, it was a pretty cute box, but still, that wasn't an exactly pretty way to store my nail polishes. Now, since I started the DIY Room Decor series, I felt like I didn't need to just store my nail polishes, but I needed to display them. And thus came the idea of nail polish shelves.

Well, I know I didn't invent them. In fact, nearly every single beauty guru has them. But those are the ones that cost £18 from Amazon. I did not have £18 pounds, but I so desperately wanted nail polish shelves. So I scoured Pinterest searching 'DIY nail polish rack'. I found some decent ideas, like use a spice rack or make your own out of planks of wood, but since I didnt have either of these and only £5 in my pocket, I knew I had to be even more creative.

So this is what I came up with:

Yay! My very own nail polish rack. And it all came to the grand total of £0.00. Go me!

So here's how you do it:

What you will need

1. A cardboard box. Something nice and sturdy that will support the weight of all your nail polishes. It also has to be tall enough to accommodate the heights of the bottles as well as the number of shelves. I used a large Lindt chocolate box.
   
2.  You also need some scissors- big ones mind you, because cutting cardboard isn't an easy job!
3. A glue gun. I happened to have one at home but you can get one for like £10 which is pretty worth it as they stick just about anything. If you are attempting this project and don't have a glue gun, either use some specialist craft glue, or go out and buy one. I wouldn't recommend just using a Pritt Stick because it just wont stick. Also, please be careful! When they say Hot Glue Gun, they do mean Hot Glue Gun, which means that they can get up to temperatures of over 200 degrees C, which believe me is hot. I happened to unfortunately burn myself, and it was not pleasant. 
   
4.  Just some pretty coloured paper if you want to jazz up your shelves a bit. I used some left over adhesive from my chest of drawers and it worked pretty well, but you can use whatever takes your fancy!

Ok, so let's get to it.

• First off, you're going to need to make some shelves. Luckily for me, my box had a lid , so I used the smaller box for the frame, and the slightly bigger one for the shelves. I cut the edges off of the 'shelf box' , which gave me shelves the perfect width, that didn't jut out at all. Which is fab! I just trimmed the shelves to get them the size I wanted, but be careful not to trim too much, because you want your shelves to fit snugly. 
• Next I warmed up the hot glue gun. For this project, depending on how big your shelves are, you will probably need one stick of glue. You can purchase the glue at any good craft or DIY store, e.g HobbyCraft, B&Q, Homebase. Be careful to use the stand to prop up the gun, because like I mentioned before, it does get very hot and you don't want to set your house on fire. 
• After waiting 8-10 minutes, your glue gun will probably be ready. To check if it is, pull the trigger, and if glue comes out it's ready- if it doesn't, wait a few more minutes. 
• Then start to apply some glue to the shelves and fix them in place where you want them. Apply a bit of pressure so that the two materials really bond together.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
• Keep adding as many shelves as you need. It should look something like this: 
  
• Once you have your frame, you can start to add the coloured paper. You could do this before you glue the shelves, but I did it after to cover up the excess bits of paper. Just measure out the sizes of the boxes, and glue them on. 
  
• Now you can mount the shelves! They are finished! You can put all your favourite nail polishes on there, and but don't be limited to just that- display lip balms, jewellery or whatever takes your fancy. Here is my finished product:

My Number 1 Go To Nude Polish

Hello guys!

As I painted my nails for the somewhat millionth time today, I though to myself : ' Wow, I use this nail polish way too much' And its true. I have many nail polishes and I do love every single one of them, however one just sings out to me whenever I need my fingernails looking pretty!

This beautiful varnish is a nude colour, which is my staple colour because it's classy, and since I go to school 8 - 3.30, 5 days a week, I won't get told off for it.

So without further ado, I can reveal that my absolute favourite nail polish in the world at the moment is Revlon Colourstay in Sandy Nude. Here's why I love it:

1. I love the colour  Its a nice creamy nude- not too light, not too dark, and it suits most complexions. I think that it looks great in the summer with a tan, but looks absolutely timeless in the winter, topped with a nice sparkly top coat.

Here are my nails after two coats. As you can see the polish is a nice neutral nude.

2. It's very easy to apply  The bottle comes with a nice wide brush, which I like a lot, and you can probably paint the whole nail in one or two swipes. The formulation is quite nice and thin - so not really gloopy- which makes the application neat and simple.

3. The coverage is opaque There's nothing that I hate more than nail polish that is supposed to be opaque being sheer. To be fair, sheer nail polish annoys me in general, I can never get it streak free. After only two coats, this wonder product is pretty much opaque, if you want you can use three which gives very bold lasting colour.

4. It's very shiny This nail polish is so shiny, you literally don't even need a topcoat to seal it. I find this really good if you need a quick touch up. Which leads me on to my next point...

5. It does dry pretty quickly Ok, so I'm not going to exaggerate and say that it dries in 1 second, but I must point out that that this polish does not take ages to dry. I'd say on average, a thin coat will take between 5 and 10 minutes to dry completely, which is pretty good to say the least.

6. It's durable I usually paint my nails on the Saturday night, and I'm not kidding, this will literally last until the next Saturday night. I HATE chips (nail chips, not edible ones!) and I get very paranoid and obsessive over a little scratch, and I'm pleased to say, that this definitely delivers on the hard wearing front!
