So I'm back

Hello everyone.
I'd like to begin this post by saying a huge thank you to those of you who have continued checking back and remembering Little Miss Life during my long hiatus of over a year off.

It's taken me a while to decide whether to come back and continue blogging and I'll be honest with you, for a long time I genuinely didn't think I ever would. Back in 2014 my blog was doing pretty well and I had you lovely readers visiting it almost every day, and so after I left I felt so bad and embarrassed at leaving without saying good bye that I thought I should just quit for good.

Although I never really wanted to stop blogging, it was getting towards the beginning of winter 2014 and I was up to my neck in school life and general busyness. I was only 15 at the time, and I didn't really understand how to use and manage my time effectively, and so something had to give. Unfortunately that something was blogging.

It is one of my biggest regrets that I didn't continue writing Little Miss Life after that, as I know that I really could have pulled it off and managed to juggle my school, social and blogging life. Sadly back then I was lacking in confidence and believed that taking a break from my blog was the best thing for me.

This break went on throughout the year of 2015 and I'll admit that I often forgot that I even had a blog. I stopped reading my most favourite blogs that belonged to my blogging friends as well. It was as if I'd just abandoned a whole community and had zero contact at all.

Then in 2016, with the pressures of GCSEs and exams building up, I realised that I was getting stressed and I needed an escape from it all. A creative escape that wasn't painting for my art coursework or writing short stories for English controlled assessments. No, I finally remembered what had left the huge gap in my life and I immediately felt a sense of guilt and nostalgia. I wanted to blog immediately. My subconscience shut these ideas down though, saying things like 'you've got exams to revise for' or 'you don't have time'. But this time I decided I wasn't going to listen to doubts that may or may not come true. This time I'm going to enjoy my life and share it with you regardless of the other pressures that may be present. This time I'm here, half way through my GCSE exams, ready to pick up my pen and get scribbling in my blogging notebook.

This is something I feel passionate about. This is something I care about, that I enjoy doing. It fills me with joy when I see people commenting and sharing my posts and I hope we can start this new chapter together on a high. We've got a name change and hopefully The Thrifty Teen will be up and running, ready for action very soon, bigger and better than ever.

I've got tonnes of incredibly exciting posts planned so stick around and you'll see them soon! Again, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for your patience. It really means a lot.

Sisterhood of the World of Bloggers Award

I cannot begin to tell you my excitement about my nomination for the Sisterhood of the World of Bloggers Award. I was nominated by the lovely Ugo who runs one of my favourite blogs of the moment Sugar Sprinkles. You can get to the blog (and I recommend you do) by clicking the link.

The Rules
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their site
2. Put the Award logo on your blog
3. Answer their ten questions
4. Make up ten new questions for your nominees
5. Nominate 10 bloggers

I feel so special being part of "The Sisterhood" I'm not even kidding!

Here are Ugo's questions:

1.Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging because I had been reading a lot of blogs online and I thought "Why not give this a go!" So I did! I've been blogging for almost 6 months now (I actually can't believe it's been that long) and I love it, so I don't intend to stop any time soon!
2.Would you ever consider creating a YouTube channel?
I don't really think that YouTube would be for me, but you know, never say never!
3.If you could have any animal in the world as a pet what would you choose and why?
A monkey. I don't know why, but I have this massive fixation with monkeys, I'm a little obsessed. No, honestly, it is robably my life ambition to get a pet monkey.
4.Is there a reason behind your blog name?
To be quite boringly honest, no. I was brainstorming for ages, and then I thought I liked the idea of Little Miss.... so then I spent a while trying to fill the gap. Originally I came up with Little Miss Lifestyle, because my blog is a lifestyle blog, but somebody already stole that, so I settled for Little Miss Life, and I really like it!
5.Would you rather sneeze glitter or every time you cough you turn purple?
I actually want to sneeze glitter. It would be so cool.
6.What's your favourite food?
I can't whittle it down to a specific food, but I can give you my favourite meal if that's OK. STARTER: Chicken soup. MAIN: Salmon and mashed potatoes and creamy sauce. DESSERT: Anything with chocolate. Like literally anything. I'm not fussy.
7.A beauty product you couldn't live without?
Vaseline. It is life. End of.
8.Your favourite Disney film?
A Little Mermaid! It is so cute, and call me weird for being attracted to cartoon characters, btu Eric is really hot.
9.Sweets or Chocolate?
As I've mentioned above it has to be chocolate!
10.Any siblings, if yes how many?
I come from a HUGE fam, so I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

Those were some good questions Ugo!

My Questions
1. What is your favourite subject at school?
2. What is your favourite film of all time?
3. Biggest celebrity crush?
4. Go to Autumn nail colour?
5. How long have you been blogging for?
6. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
7. What is your dream job?
8. Favourite song of the moment?
9. What is your favourite T.V show?
10. And random bonus question : Who is your favourite Kardashian?

I nominate JennaJess and Becca

Get those questions answered girls!
Thanks again to Ugo, who nominated me, and I do recommend checking out her great blog!

Blanket Wraps

Hi guys, it's Wednesday now, so we're halfway through a very busy week! I for one have been extremely busy as I have had 3 exams to revise for as well as an English controlled assessment! Luckily today I have had a little window in my day to do a bit of blogging, which I feel I haven't done for a REALLY long time.

It's my birthday on Monday where I will be 15, and one of the few things on my birthday list has been one of this season's new must have items. The famous blanket wrap! So what better thing to do than write a list of my favourite ones on the market!

The first one on my list is this traditional tartan blanket wrap from New Look priced decently at £20. I love the simple pattern and this piece will definitely go with any casual outfit.

This next piece is also from New Look and is also £20. The colours are a lovely mustard and grey which work well together. I would probably wear this wrap with some black leggings and Doc Martens, but not with anything too colourful that would detract from this wonderful piece.

This wrap is from Marks and Spencer and is about £40. It's quite plain and doesn't have much pattern going on, and would be perfect with a patterned top and maybe medium wash jeans. It's not my favourite, but would definitely be a good staple to have as it will go with pretty much any outfit.

This is a slightly more expensive wrap priced at £250: it is completely out of my price range. It is by Michael Kors and is full fronted. This works as a sort of jumper and again I would 100% pair this with a simple pair of leggings or jeans.

I love this blanket wrap from House of Frazer (£45) because it has a really classy Burberry vibe at a small fraction of the price. It is very classic and should only be worn with some really simple tailored pieces, perhaps maybe greys and black.

So that was my blanket wrap wishlist, hope you enjoyed it and do tell me if you would like to see more fashion-y things like this. Also, I am planning to do a Polyvore on blanket wraps, so look out for that (and follow me of course) but if not I shall see you in my next post!

H&M Buy One Get One Half Price Jeans

Ok so I was in town yesterday, and I went into H&M (one of my absolute FAVOURITE clothing stores). I had a little browse, and then I got to the jeans section and almost screamed with delight.

They were having a Buy-One-Get-One-Half-Price Sale. Now, usually these types of sales don't really excite me that much, because it's like well, one pair of jeans will be £44, so add half price, and that's a lot of money spent on jeans. However, somehow in H&M these extortionate prices don't exist and I managed to get two pairs of jeans for £7.99 each. £7.99. I wish there was a button to capitalise numbers. £7.99!

These were the skinny low jeans, they were surprisingly good quality and come in a myriad of demim washes and colours. I picked up the black and the "denim blue" because they were colours that for some reason I didn't own till yesterday, but I am so happy because now I pretty much have every single denim shade in existence! Yay. And for a very small price!

So go quickly to H&M and grab a quick bargain before the deal runs out!

DIY Ripped Jeans

Second post of the day guys, hope you don't mind!

So I was in River Island the other day, and I saw a pair of ripped jeans, which I instantly fell in love with. The only problem however, was the price. At £44.99 they were slightly out of my tiny budget range especially for a pair of ripped jeans. I've never actually owned ripped jeans before, and I thought they were cool, but I wasn't going to be paying extortionate amounts for them.

Later that day, I was in YouTube watching a 5 Seconds of Summer interview, and I noticed that all the boys were wearing ripped jeans. I know its weird to take fashion inspiration from guys, but the jeans looked so cool and I do love a bit of 5SOS. This made me even hungrier for the pair in River Island.

So, I went down to my mum and asked her for an early birthday present (its my birthday on the 29th). This is how the conversation went.

"Mum, could I possibly have an early birthday present?"
"What for?"
"Some jeans"
" Why do you need more jeans? You've got loads. You bought a new pair last week!"
"Yeah, but these jeans are ripped jeans"
Then Mum stared at me for a while and said " Why would you need to buy ripped jeans? Back in the 80's we did it ourselves! Honestly kids these days!"

And then a lightbulb went in in my head. Not once did it cross my mind to make my own, so here's what I did:

Jeans: Primark
Boots: Hush Puppies

Back to School: Stationery Haul

Only one more day left until school and I'm actually quite excited for the first time in my life. I think the main reason for this feeling was because I went stationery shopping a few days ago which kind of put me 'in the mood'. I know tomorrow I will be crying about how horrible school is, and counting down until Christmas, but stationary shopping is something that I enjoy as I'm a bit of a pen addict.

I went to Sainsburys, Tesco, Asda  WHSmith, The Works, Poundland, Accessorize and Ryman to pick up my supplies ( all in one loooong shopping trip) but now I have everything I need to get back to school.

Are you ready to go back to school?

The Foodie Tag

Hello and happy Saturday to you all!

I was tagged to do the Fooodie Tag by Becca over at Trinket Box, and I'm not going to lie, I was literally praying I'd be tagged as soon as I read the post. It was a lovely surprise once I'd finished reading to know that I'd been given the chance to talk about one of my favourite things in life. FOOD.

So let's get on with the TAG!

1.What is your favourite cuisine
I like all cuisines, why do I have to pick one? In my head I can see lots of chefs shouting "pick me, pick me" so I'm going to pick the Chinese chef and say Chinese cuisine, because you can't go wrong with hoisin duck can you?

2. What is your favourite fast food restaurant?
This is like asking which of your parents is your favourite! I just love McDonald's fatty, salty chips, but then I had a KFC yesterday and those chicken strips were amazing. And you get free salad at Pizza Hut. I'm sorry, I can't choose. I like the above 3 equally.

What's your Nando's order?
I feel bad saying this, but I never really got what all the hype about Nando's is about. It's basically like a posh KFC where you get to use a knife and fork. I've been once or twice and we just had one of those sharing platters, so I don't really have a specific order. Also its horrendously expensive and you can get nicer chicken next door at KFC for a third of the price.

What pizza toppings are your favourite?
I like pizza so much I'm not really fussy about what's on it. Except pineapple. I HATE PINEAPPLE ON PIZZA. My favourite though, would probably be meat feast so mince meat, sausage, chicken, pepperoni,  and any other meat they have, really.

What's your Starbucks order?
Double shot iced cafe latte with 3 sugars.

Do you prefer eating out or home cooking?
I love cooking at home, since my dad used to be a head chef and he can always point me in the right direction. I'd say I'm a pretty good cook, I can make lasagne, tortellini (from scratch the filling and the pasta, I know right?) rice, spring rolls and a number of different cakes.

What are your favourite breakfast foods?
I'm going to sound so boring when I say this, but toast. Toast with butter that is half melted in the morning is absolutely delicious in my opinion. Oh, it makes me want some toast now. And you can spread all sorts of different things on it: jam, peanut butter, marmite if you're feeling risky. Not to mention Nutella...

What is your favourite curry?
Not even kidding, I didn't even know there were different types of curry. I just asked my dad which one we have the most and he said Vindaloo, Korma and Biryani so I guess those are my favourites.

What's your favourite dessert?
Can I give you ny top ten?

1. Tiramisu
2. Lemon Meringue Pie
3. Chocolate fondant
4. Creme Brulee
5. Cheesecake of any variety
6. Rocky road
7. Chocolate brownies
8. Pavlova
10. Sticky toffe pudding.

And that is the end of the foodie tag, thank you for reading, I've really enjoyed doing this tag, let me know what you think of it in the comments.

Lots of love
Eva
