Simple Galaxy Nails

Ok so I kind of have a slight obsession with nails. I get bored with the design after 3 days of wearing it and have been known to remove gel nails after a week. I don't know, I think I have a problem...
Anyway, I think I'm really behind on this whole galaxy nails trend but I'm really loving it and couldn't wait to recreate it. However, the only massive obstacle is that painting nails isn't my strongest point.  So, I decided to make it nice and simple, and to be honest I think it looks quite nice too. And it was really easy to recreate.

For my manicure I used:
Moonlight Shimmer Collection 2000
Gold Glitter Barry M
Bikini So Teeny Essie
Diamond Barry M
Natural White Sally Hansen

As you can see, I don't really buy all the super high end products even though they are pretty amazing. I tend to just stick to the ones that I can get in my local Superdrug or Boots. I think they're great- they paint really well and are nice and cheap.

So first of all I painted my nails with a base coat. I use a Sally Hansen one, simply because they are actually quite strengthening.
After that had dried I painted my nails with my purple shade Moonlight Shimmer this is quite a thick opaque polish so I actually got away with only one coat.

Next I did the galaxy nail. I got a sponge (just an average washing up sponge), snipped it up into small pieces and then painted them- one piece gold Gold Glitter, one piece white Natural White , one piece blue Bikini So Teeny. I then randomly splodged them all over the nail making a wispy galaxy effect.

After that, I used the Diamond over the top in splodges just to add a teeny bit of extra sparkle

Finally I drew the outline if my ring finger with Natural White and a striper brush, which you can buy on eBay very cheaply
If you want you can dab on some gold polish onto your thumb and pinkie, using the same technique as the galaxy, as I've done above.

Also you can shake it up a little by changing round the colours or even doing the galaxy nail on all of your nails- it's really up to you! Be creative! If you would like me to try out any other types of nail designs, please make a suggestion in the comments below!
Lots of Love
Eva
